How about this as an ad: Eat Among the Graves in this Restaurant in India.

Using coffins as a tourist attraction? That was not the original plan when Krishnan Kutti bought land to build a restaurant over 50 years ago. Workers found 12 burials during construction, possibly from a 16th Century Muslim cemetery. He did not want to disturb them, but he also did not want to stop work on the restaurant.

The dining area allows people to sit at tables near the graves without disturbing them. In the photos below, you can see short metal fences protecting the graves. The article also states that restaurant staff clean the graves and place fresh flowers on them daily to respect the dead.

It’s lucky to eat among the dead

Kutti felt it would bring luck for patrons of the restaurant to eat among the graves. That sentiment gave him the name of the restaurant!

Of course, there are a number of Youtube videos about the New Lucky Restaurant. Happily, patrons interviewed for the videos claim that the food is consistently good!
